This is just a quick post about a little bargain that I picked up from Priceline yesterday. I really don't need any new lipsticks or nail polish, but I was at the shops and I bought a new dress for my bfs art exhibition this Saturday, and I just felt like I wanted a new lipstick to go with the dress. I was originally going to look for one of those new bright Maybelline lipsticks, and I was looking at the light pink shade because I don't have any light bright pinks, then I saw this pack by Innoxa and the lipstick shade was almost identical! So instead of paying $18-$19 for the Maybelline lipstick, I bought this pack for $14.95!
I saw three of these packs available, this Baby Doll set, a Fuschia set (which was a little darker than Baby Doll), and a Tangerine set. Normally the lipstick alone is $14.95 and the nail polish is $13.95, so this is a great deal! I also love the fact that I have a perfectly matching lipstick and nail polish set!
This is a really pretty shade, its bright baby pink and is a shade that I love, but for some reason don't own! This shade is part of the Summer Matte range.
Look how pretty it is swatched! I haven't worn it yet, so I can't comment yet about how it wears on the lips. As it is matte, I will be exfoliating my lips before I apply it. I will probably do a face of the day post on Saturday where I will be wearing this lipstick and nail polish.
Edit: I have just been playing with this lipstick, and it is a pretty high maintenance lipstick... definitely not as thick and creamy as the other shades I have from this brand. This will require exfoliating, a lip liner and a gloss over the top to make it look less dry. It is also lighter than my natural lip colour so it does stand out a lot... I'll try to make it work, but I might have to mix it with a slightly darker shade. Maybe I should have gone for the fuschia shade :P I do have the lipstick in Tangerine, and I do think that is a better lipstick that this one, so if you still want to try this pack, I would recommend that one.
I have a few other Innoxa lipsticks, so I might do a Innoxa lipstick collection post soon.
What do you think of this pack?

I did a disappointing product post yesterday (see post here), so I decided to do a product rave today just to even out the blogging karma. This is my all time favourite scrub! When this St Ives Green Tea Scrub was first released, I think I used three tubes of it before I got a little sick of it and I wanted to try new things. Every time I bought a new scrub (even other St Ives scrubs) I always thought "it's still not as good as the green tea one!". After about a year of trying other scrubs , and after months of my boyfriend asking why I don't buy this anymore (yes we are both fans), I decided that I must have it. This costs $9.99 full price from Priceline, but you can often get it on sale.
So this is a green paste that smells nice (almost like a fruity kiwifruit scent?), and unlike other scrubs, this isn't a cream or gel that contains a sparse amount of large exfoliating particles or beads, instead it is almost like a paste that is completely made up of tiny grains. It creates a really satisfying scrub that works really effectively but isn't harsh on the skin. It almost feels like you are using a paste version of a soft sandpaper on your skin... I know that sounds weird, but it feels so good!
This is also oil free (bonus!), it is not tested on animals, and contains no animal products. It also contains Salicylic Acid which is used to help clear up and prevent spots.
This is the best scrub I have ever used, and it is under $10! I have tried a lot of high end scrubs and I keep coming back to this. If you love face scrubs that actually scrub, then I highly recommend this product!
Have you tried this scrub? What did you think?

I got this nail polish mini in my David Jones Deluxe Sampler Tote (see review here). There weren't many shades to choose from, but I was tossing up between this shade and a dark grey shade, but I chose this one because I thought the oil slick gold/blue/purple looked amazing in the bottle. I have since looked up this shade and I believe it is called Just Spotted The Lizard and is from the Spider Man Collection.
The above photo is of two coats of the polish, and sadly, it didn't turn out anywhere near what I was expecting! This is a gold nail polish with an olive hint... so it pretty much looks like a light "old gold". I love sparkly nails, but this has highlighted how much I dislike most metallic shades.
So as you can see from the photo above, this looks primarily gold but has a green hint where the shadows lie. Overall it just looks like a metallic olive gold shade that you might expect a hip grandmother or a mother of the bride to wear... there are definitely no blues or purples that are obvious in the bottle, and frankly is a let down.
The colour aside, the formula is ok. I used two coats, and you definitely need two coats because the first shade is quite sheer. This isn't streaky, but because of the metallic finish, you can see brush marks if you aren't careful (which you can see in the photo above). I don't know how this lasts because I took it off after a day and a half, but I can say that there was no wear or chipping in that time.
This nail polish is a let down for me, and all I could picture when I saw it were those horrible duo shimmer formal/prom dresses that people wore in the early 2000's! Bleh, I should have got the grey shade!

Here is the Lust Have It February box! Supposedly this box was so heavy that they couldn't fit it in a standard Lust Have It box, and some boxes had to have some items removed to reduce the weight... mine included everything on the card.
Lets see whats in this months box...
This a great value box which contains three full sized items - the tanning product, the nail polish and the hand mask. It also contains a mini Lancome mascara which is an awesome sample to include! These are the types of samples I want to see from subscription boxes!
Kevin Murphy Born Again Masque - 7ml sample: I am not a fan of sachet samples, but this looks like a good product. I have tried Kevin Murphy shampoo and conditioner samples and I liked them... but this seems more exciting because its a hair treatment, and who doesn't like using hair treatments?
Lancome Star Show-Stopping Volume Mascara - 2ml sample: This is what I want to see more of! I never buy expensive mascaras, so I love being able to sample them... if it's worth $52 I will buy it, but I wouldn't spend $52 without trying it first. Perfect sample!
The Natural Source Camouflage Colour Nail Lacquers - full size: Who doesn't like a new nail polish, especially from a brand that you haven't tried before? I got the shade Ivy, which is a metallic mint green. I don't have any shades like this (generally metallic shades don't appeal too much to me), but I am definitely keen to give it a try. I will probably do a review soon.
LonVitalite C10 Whitening Hand Mask - full size: These are the types of things that I also like to see in these subscription boxes... products that I don't know about or wouldn't consider buying for myself. I will definitely use this and add an update in here, or I will do a blog post about it. This "whitening" is supposed to even pigments and age spots, but because I am only 26, I don't have any of those. I probably would have preferred the moisturising one!
Summer Tan by Manicine Self Action Tan in Dark - full size: I rarely invest in good tanning products, so I am really happy to try this! I will definitely review this once I have used it!
Overall, I really like this box! It is great value and I will use everything in it. I definitely like this more than the Bellabox this month. Well done Lust Have It! If you are interested in subscribing, this costs $15 a month and you can find out more at www.LustHaveIt.com.au
I just thought I would quickly mention that there are different versions of the Lust Have It boxes each month. The beautiful Jasmine got a slightly different box to mine, and you can see her review here.

David Jones are currently selling a Deluxe Sampler Tote for $19.95 with any beauty purchase. This has been around all month, so I was pretty late to check it out, but they are available until sold out... and at least the David Jones on Bourke Street in Melbourne still have quite a few available. So you get to choose from two bags each valued at over $93 - see the list of whats in each bad in the photo above. Even though they come with the tote bag below, the products are actually attached on the outside of the tote in a clear makeup bag, so you can see whats in it before you buy it (which comes in handy because it means you can look at all the OPI shades available and pick the one you like most! - I was tossing up between this oil spill one and a dark grey)
So I got the bag that's listed on the left of the card. I wanted things from each bag, but the thing that convinced me to get this one was the foundation is in the shade Fair... which I will actually use, whereas the foundation in the other bag was in the shade Tan. I really like the clear makeup bag that it all came in, I will definitely use it for traveling because it is a great size and its easy to see whats in there. The tote however is not my style, at best I might become a grocery bag, at worst I might throw it out.
So these are the products:
David Jones Refreshing Facial Cleanser 30ml and Beauty Moisture Day Cream 30ml - Both of these are from the David Jones skincare and makeup range, and these come in both bags. I am not sure how long David Jones have had their own range out... but I am curious to try them. I will save these for traveling.
OPI Nail Lacquer 3.75ml mini - Once again, this mini comes in each bag. I got an oil slick looking one (and I will review it asap), but I also saw a light pink, a dark grey, a dark silver with glitter and a brown shade. I love these minis, because I rarely get through a whole bottle of nail polish these days.
Giorgio Armani Armani Code Luna 1.5ml sample - These aren't the typical scents I go for, but this is actually really nice! It is a warm musky floral that would be a great Winter scent.
Scottish Fine Soaps Conditioner 40ml - This is a good sized conditioner, and I am going to Japan in May, so I will definitely save this for traveling (like a lot of these products :P)
Lanolips Golden Ointment Pot 12.5g - I have only recently discovered Lanolips (see my post on one of their lip glosses) and at first apprearance, I thought this was a lip balm... it's actually a multipurpose salve which you put on dry areas. I have already used this on my elbows and knees to try it out, and I like it, I will definitely get a lot of use of this. This also smells really nice, it's like a subtle toffee scent... mmmm. The full 50g tube of this costs $28.95, so this sample is pretty good value.
Grown Camellia & Geranium Blossom Hydrating Cream 12ml - Once again, this is a great sample size. I haven't opened the seal of this so I don't know how it smells, but it is organic and it is cruelty free which is a bonus!
Revlon Lip Colorburst Lipgloss full size - This is in the shade 024 Gold Dust, which isn't really my type of shade, but oh well. I don't mind these glosses, I have one in a peach shade, but they are a little thick and tacky for my liking, so I will probably only wear this over nude lipsticks. The shade of this is a caramel with gold shimmer, but it doesn't look too bad on the lips (see swatches below).
Revlon Colorburst lip gloss in Gold Dust
David Jones Beauty Cream Foundation SPF full size 30ml in the shade Fair - Last but not least, this is the David Jones cream foundation. I saw that this normally retails for around $23, which is great value. One thing that I can say is that this is the lightest shade in the range, and it's not all that light! This is probably perfect for my skin, and I know that there are a lot of people who are a lot lighter than me! Lucky I didn't get the other bag with the Tan shade!
David Jones Cream Foundation in Fair and Revlon Colorburst lip gloss in Gold Dust
And in case you were wondering, I bought a Kosmea Rose Hip Oil as my beauty purchase. I was looking for ages, and I was thinking of getting something from The Balm etc etc, but I came back to this because I use this everyday and I was in a practical mood.
Overall I really like this bag, I will definitely use everything in it. It was like getting a great value subscription box, and I was able to choose which one I wanted (or if you are my friend Sarah who came with me, she bought one of each :P)
Will you be checking out his sampler tote?

Physicians Formula Shimmer Sprips Custom Eye Enhancing Eyeliner Trio for Brown Eyes - review and swatches
Before I talk about my new eyeliners from Physicians Formula, I just wanted to give a quick shout out to my follower Dani, who sent me a lovely email yesterday which really made my day! Thanks Dani!
Ok, so I went to Priceline today to buy toothpaste and an exfoliant, and I happened to walk past the Physicians Formula stand and I saw that they were having a $7 off sale. Normally this pack cost $24.95, but I bought them for $17.95. I have one of these pencils and they are really awesome (they last all day and are so easy to apply!), but I have always been really reluctant to buy them for $25 as I have a lot of eyeliners and I knew I wouldn't get much use of the coloured pencil in the pack - the brown eyes pack has a black, brown and purple eyeliner, the green eyes pack has a green, purple and black eyeliner, and the blue eyes pack has a blue, brown and black pencil. But as this was on sale, I though this was great value (less than $6 a liner!). I was tossing up between the brown eyes and the blue eyes pack and defaulted to the brown eyes one, since I have brown eyes. I might go back and get the blue pack while this sale is still on.
So this contains a "natural" espresso shade, a "playful" purple shimmery shade, and a "dramatic" black liner with purple shimmer.
I really like the packaging of these pencils, they are nice and shiny and are the colour of the liner which makes it easy to find among other pencils... they look and feel like they are good quality and they are twist up.
So my black one came out looking a bit melted... luckily these pencils have a sharpener in the base so it wasn't an issue getting this sharp again.
Espresso, Purple, Black - no flash
Espresso, Purple, Black - with flash
The Espresso shade is a nice chocolate brown with a bit of bronze shimmer. It is smooth to apply and is easy to built up a strong colour. The Purple is probably the worst of the three (why is purple always the least pigmented eye product shade?), it is a nice colour but it isn't as smooth and pigmented... but it is still a pretty decent liner, but it will work better on the lash line instead of the waterline. The one I like the most is the Black. When I first bought this, I had no idea that this had purple shimmer in it... and I am really impressed with how good it looks swatched, and how unique it is. Sure the purple shimmer probably won't show up on your eyes, but I still really like it. The black shade is just as smooth and pigmented as the brown.
The reason why I love Physicians Formula liners is because they apply smoothly, they are budge proof, and they can be easily applied to your waterline... If you want a liner to last all day, then try these!

Hey all! Just letting you know that I have created a new instagram account, which will be dedicated to all things beauty - makeup looks, nail looks, photos of new products etc. So just feel free to search for kitschsnitch and to follow me.
Or you can follow my personal instagram account, which contains typical instagram images of cats, food and every day randomness. Just search for kathrynwilson and follow me!
I received this nail polish from my February Bellabox (see post here), and I was really excited to test it out. You can buy these at any place where you can buy Sally Hansen (eg Priceline and Chemist Warehouse) and this costs $14.95.
This is what one coat looks like on its own (one coat). It is a blue gel polish that contains large blue and green glitter pieces and smaller blue glitter pieces. I believe that you can build this up to a solid blue base colour, but according to other reviews I have looked it, it takes 3+ layers to get that bold look. I decided instead to layer this over a darker base.
On a side note, I love the large Sally Hansen brush... It is easily two times bigger than a normal nail polish brush and makes applying nail polish much easier and quicker.
This is actually the first time I have used this Wet 'n' Wild black polish, and even though the packaging isn't the best, the polish smells a lot stronger than normal polish, and its not the smoothest polish to apply - I need to admit that I was very impressed because the photo above is only one coat of polish!
Here is the finished look! I layered two coats of the glitter on top on the black, and I also used a top coat.

Do you use bronze or taupe shades for contouring? Review, swatches and comparison of NYX Taupe Blush
I have started getting into contouring more and more these days, and I think the reason why I never was big into contouring previously is because I had some very orange toned contour products, which can work in summer, but can look weird for the rest of the year. A few months ago I bought the Illamasqua Cream Pigment in Hollow (see review here), and I realised that there are some great alternatives to the typical bronze contours, and that these products can actually look like a really natural shadow... which ultimately what a contour is supposed to look like! The only problem I had with the Illamasqua Cream Pigment was that the cream is harder to apply compared to a powder product. I had heard that the NYX blush in Taupe is a great natural looking contour shade so I ordered it from Beautyjoint.com. I had to buy this online because NYX is hard to get in Australia, and even though this only costs $6 from Beautyjoint I had a pretty hard time getting it and I ended up having to pay a lot more than just the $6 (see my Beautyjoint fail post here)... I would recommend trying to buy this from other sites like Cherryculture.com because I wasn't very impressed with Beautyjoint's customer service.
So this is a typical NYX blush. The packaging is sturdy, but is made of cheapish feeling plastic, there is no mirror or brush included - but it is a great size and would be perfect for a makeup bag. This contains 4g of product and is cruetly free.
This isn't super pigmented, but can be built up and isn't at all powdery... which works well for a contour, as you don't want a super pigmented stripe down your face. This is a matte grey/taupe/purple shade which mimics the look of a shadow, and it works perfectly for a contour!
NYX Taupe, Illamasqua Hollow, MAC Harmony
I thought I would show this shade compared to the Illamasqua Cream Pigment in the shade Hollow, which I think is a great contour shade, and also compared to MAC's Harmony blush, which is a commonly used contour shade.
NYX Taupe, Illamasqua Hollow, MAC Harmony
Overall I think this is an amazing contour shade, and more people should start looking at taupes instead of bronzes. Don't get me wrong, bronzes can work if you are careful with it, or if you have tanned or olive complexions, but if you are pale or have cooler skin tones then taupe is the way to go!
What do you think about taupe contouring products?

My February Bellabox has arrived! No, I didn't win one of the Tiffany & Co. gifts that were hidden in three of the boxes this month. Ah well! Let's see what I did get...
Click on the photo to see a larger photo
The two items that I were instantly excited about were the nail polish and the Nuxe oil. This box contains only one full size item (the nail polish), but the nail polish pays for the whole box... I wish they included a full version of the oil too! There was another Bellabox released that received a Eye Of Horus eyeliner, I was hoping to receive that, but ah well.
Batiste Dry Shampoo in Blush - 50ml sample: I think I got one of these in a Bellabox a few months ago... not a huge deal, and previously I would love seeing this, but I cut my hair really short and haven't used dry shampoo since. I might keep this for traveling or give it away.
Sally Hansen Complete Salon Manicure shade Mermaids Tail - full size: This is the only full size product in the box, and I was quite happy to see it because I love nail polish, and glitter nail polish. This is a petty blue and green glitter polish, I have a nail polish similar to this so I could have loved to see one of the different shades that they were giving out, but I will definitely use this! I will do an individual review of this on my blog later this week.
Banana Boat Sport SPF 30+ - 15ml sample: I will save this for whenever I go to the beach next. This is sweat and water resistant so it would be better used at the beach instead of day to day. I once heard that sunscreen expires after a year, so its good having these samples around instead of buying a whole bottle.
John Frieda Frizz-Ease Dream Curls Curl Perfecting Spray - 30ml sample: A bit like the dry shampoo, I don't use many hair products anymore since I cut my hair. I will attempt to use this, or I might pass it on to my mum.
U Skin Solutions Clean and Go Exfoliating Gel Cleanser - sample: This is a really small sample, but I am happy to give an exfoliating cleanser a go! This is a clear gel that smells like honey lemon strepsils. I might add in a mini review once I use this.
Nuxe Huile Prodigieuse - 10ml sample: This is a multi-purpose oil that can be used on the face, body or hair. It comes in a really expensive looking glass bottle, that reminds me of a perfume bottle. This smells like a nice soft floral blossom scent. I love any oil products, so I am more than happy to use this! My only small gripe about this is that you need to pour the oil out of the bottle, a pump would have been SO much better. Nevermind!
Overall this is a pretty good box, sadly the hair products won't suit my hair needs, but the rest were good items. If you are interested in joining up for Bellabox subscription boxes, they cost $14.95 a month and you can join here. If you want to see more about Bellabox then see my post about Bellabox vs Lust Have It.
